With the transition to living in Utah, many of our
people may not know how to speak Samoan. Alofa
Fa’aSamoa is committed to providing opportunities to
teach the Samoan language to all interested,
especially to our children thus helping to preserve our
native tongue.

Through awareness and culture building activities and
programs Alofa Fa’aSamoa shares Samoan culture
with Samoans and others who want to understand
and appreciate who we are as a people. The various
Alofa Fa’aSamoa-sponsored activities, events,
programs, and celebrations unite us a people and
bring us together for a deeper appreciation of Samoan
culture and perspective.

We understand that key to the success of Samoans
living in American society is education and the
advancement of ideals and opportunities for learning.
Alofa Fa’aSamoa is committed to helping individuals
and families understand the advantages of educational pursuits and will assist in providing tailor-
made after-school programs, tutorials, and assistance in an effort to provide access and exposure to the
Samoan community.

Alofa Fa’aSamoa is committed to the promotion of
healthy ideals through regular activities and programs
that highlight the ideals of physical exercise, healthy
eating, and dissemination of health and medical
information on specific health issues affecting the
Samoan community.

MISSION

To be a trusted resource for traditional Samoan culture and values to Samoans living in Utah and cultivate meaningful interaction between the tupulaga, our youth and the tama ma tina matutua, our venerable elders—striving together
to contribute meaningfully to the society of which we are now a part.

Shadow on Concrete Wall
WHO WE ARE
